Methods currently used to diagnose and monitor progression of this disease are covered. This includes assessment of the anterior chamber angle, optic disc evaluation, psychophysical tests and visual field analysis. Pharmocological agents used in the control of intra-ocular pressure are discussed as well as surgical options which are available. Indications and contraindications for each are covered. Advice is given about obtaining funding for comanagement programmes and an example of one such scheme is illustrated.
